How to find a Telegram user ID
- Your own ID: many Telegram clients show it on the profile screen; you can also use a well-known ID bot. Never share login codes with any bot.
- Another user's ID: forward one of their messages to an ID bot, or ask them for it.
- Usernames do not work: the tool needs the numeric ID, because the estimate is based on the number itself.
How the estimate works
Telegram issued user IDs roughly in sequence, so lower numbers generally belong to older accounts. The checker compares the ID with public reference points of known IDs and registration times and estimates the period between them. Reference data: the open-source tdage project (MIT License).
| User ID roughly | Estimated registration |
|---|---|
| under 10 million | 2013 |
| 10–65 million | 2014 |
| 100–150 million | 2015 |
| 150–300 million | 2016 |
| 300–400 million | 2017 |
| around 800 million | mid 2019 |
| around 2 billion | late 2021 |
How accurate is it?
It is an estimate, usually within a few months for accounts up to 2021. It cannot prove when a specific account was created, and IDs above about 2 billion are only shown as "late 2021 or newer". For channels and groups, use the first-message method in our creation date guide.
Need an account from a specific year?
SocialStore supplies aged Telegram accounts by creation year, with the evidence and price confirmed in writing before payment: 2014 · $79 2015 · $39 2016 · $33 2017 · $30 2018 · $28 2020 · $23. See all years on the aged Telegram accounts page.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check how old my Telegram account is?
Find your numeric user ID (for example with a trusted ID bot or a client that shows it), enter it in the checker above and you get an estimated registration month and year. Your own app's data-usage screen can also show when statistics started.
Is the result the exact creation date?
No. Telegram does not publish registration dates. User IDs were issued roughly in order, so the ID can be matched against known reference points to estimate a period.
Can I check someone else's account?
Only with their numeric user ID, and only as an estimate. Treat it as one signal, never as proof of identity or trustworthiness.
Why does it say 'late 2021 or newer'?
The reference data used here is detailed up to late 2021. Newer accounts are shown as a range instead of a specific year to avoid a false precise answer.
Does an older account mean it is safer?
Not by itself. An older creation date is one characteristic; behaviour, restrictions and security settings matter more.
