An aged X account is only worth its price if the age is real and the account becomes fully yours. These checks take a few minutes and catch almost every bad deal.

Most problems with bought X accounts come from three things: an age that is not what was promised, a seller who keeps a way back in, or an account that was already restricted. Check all three before payment.

1. Verify the age yourself

  1. Look at the "Joined" date on the profile: it shows the month and year the account was created.
  2. Ask for the numeric user ID and open x.com/i/user/ followed by the ID: it must open the same profile.
  3. Decode the ID with the free X account age checker. The date must match the "Joined" date. A renamed account keeps its ID, so an old ID with a new username is normal.

2. Check the history

  • Posts and replies: scroll back. Long silence followed by a burst of spam-like posts is a warning sign.
  • Followers: if you pay for followers, open a sample. Empty profiles with no posts mean the count is inflated.
  • Restrictions: search for the username while logged out. If it does not appear, or posts show as unavailable, ask why before paying.

3. The handover

The account is yours only when every way in belongs to you:

  1. Change the email to one only you control, and confirm it.
  2. Change or remove the phone number.
  3. Set a new password and turn on two-factor authentication with your own app.
  4. In Settings → Security, log out all other sessions and revoke connected apps you do not use.

Pay through escrow or a seller with a public track record, and release the payment only after these steps.

4. After you receive it

  • Act like a normal user for the first days: a few posts and replies, not mass follows or links.
  • Change the username and display name gradually rather than all at once with the bio and photo.
  • Remember that age does not include X Premium, a checkmark or monetization; those depend on X's own programs.

5. Red flags: walk away

  • The seller will not give the user ID, or the decoded date does not match.
  • The seller refuses to hand over the original email.
  • The price is far below every other offer for the same year.
  • Pressure to pay now, outside any escrow or record.

X's terms govern account transfers, and X can restrict any account it considers inauthentic. Read the current rules before you buy. Accounts sorted by creation year are on aged X (Twitter) accounts.

Frequently asked questions

How can I tell if an old X account is really old?

Compare the Joined date on the profile with the date decoded from the account's numeric ID. The ID cannot be edited, so the two must match.

What do I need from the seller after buying an X account?

The original email moved to you, the phone number removed or changed, a new password, your own two-factor authentication, and all other sessions logged out.

Does an aged X account come with a checkmark?

No. The checkmark comes from X Premium or X's verified organization program, not from account age.

Can I change the username of a bought X account?

Yes. The ID and creation date stay the same when the username changes. Change it gradually rather than together with every other profile detail.
