Facebook page monetization: how the program really works.

Facebook folded its in-stream ads, Reels and performance bonus programs into one Content Monetization program. It is invite-based, and Meta has not published a follower number that guarantees access. Here is what is known and what you can do.

A Facebook page or a profile in professional mode can earn from its content through Meta's Content Monetization program, plus a few separate tools. The key thing to know: access is by invitation, and the official criteria are not published as fixed numbers.

1. One program instead of three

  • Earnings from videos, Reels, photos and text posts now come through Content Monetization, which replaced separate in-stream ads, Reels ads and performance bonus programs.
  • It works for Pages and for profiles in professional mode. A private profile cannot be monetized.
  • Invitations are sent periodically. Creators who are not invited can express interest from the Professional Dashboard.

2. Check your status in two minutes

  1. Open the page and go to the Professional Dashboard.
  2. Open Monetization. It shows the tools your page can use, the requirements that apply to it, and any policy issues.
  3. If the program is not offered yet, use the option to express interest there.

This dashboard is the only reliable source for your page, because it reflects your country, history and policy standing.

3. What Meta looks at

  • Original content. Reposting other people's videos, or making small edits to them, is not enough. Meta asks for something new, such as your own commentary, information or storytelling.
  • Policy history. Partner Monetization Policies, Content Monetization Policies and Community Standards all apply; recent violations block or remove access.
  • Location and age. The creator must be at least 18 and in a supported country.
  • A real, engaged audience. Sudden spikes from bought likes or fake followers work against a page in review.

4. About the numbers you see online

Many articles repeat figures such as "10,000 followers and 600,000 minutes viewed in 60 days". Those numbers come from older Facebook programs and from third-party guides that disagree with each other. Meta has not published them as rules for the current program. Treat any fixed threshold as a rough idea, not a promise, and rely on your dashboard.

5. Other ways a page can earn

  • Subscriptions: followers pay monthly for exclusive content and a badge.
  • Stars: viewers send Stars on videos, Reels and live streams; Meta pays creators per Star.
  • Brand partnerships: paid partnerships found through Meta's creator marketplace, shown with the paid partnership label.

Each tool has its own eligibility, shown in the same Monetization section.

6. What most often gets pages rejected or demonetized

  • Unoriginal or reposted video compilations.
  • Engagement bait such as "like if you agree" or "share to win" posts.
  • Misleading titles and clickbait thumbnails.
  • Changing a page's name and topic completely right after buying it, which can trigger a review.

7. Buying a page that is already monetized

A page with monetization already active saves the waiting, but only if it is checked properly. Before paying, ask for a screen recording of the Monetization section showing the active tools and no policy issues, and plan the admin handover so the page stays in good standing.
