Telegram stickers are free and anyone can make them. You do not need a third-party app: the official app and Telegram's own @Stickers bot are enough.

Quick answer

Open the sticker panel in a chat, tap the plus or Create Sticker, pick a photo, cut out the subject and add it to a new pack. Or message @Stickers, send /newpack and follow the steps.

1. Make a sticker inside the app

  1. In any chat, open the sticker panel and tap Create Sticker or the plus button.
  2. Pick a photo from your gallery.
  3. Let the app cut out the subject, or erase and restore parts by hand.
  4. Add text, an outline or other stickers if you like.
  5. Add it to a new pack or to one of your packs, and give the pack a name.

The in-app editor arrived in 2024. If you do not see it, update Telegram.

2. Use the official @Stickers bot

  1. Search for @Stickers and start the bot. Check the blue verification mark: it is Telegram's own bot.
  2. Send /newpack and choose the type of sticker.
  3. Send the pack a name, then send your image as a file.
  4. Send an emoji that matches the sticker.
  5. Repeat for more stickers, then send /publish and choose a short name for the pack link.

3. Image size and format

  • Static stickers: PNG or WEBP with a transparent background, 512 pixels on the longest side.
  • Video stickers: WEBM, up to 3 seconds, 512 pixels on one side.
  • Send images to the bot as a file, not as a photo, so they keep their transparency.

4. Share your sticker pack

Every published pack has a link in the form t.me/addstickers/ followed by its short name. Send that link to friends or post it in your channel; anyone who opens it can add the pack.

5. Edit or delete a pack

  • In the @Stickers bot, use the commands to add stickers, change their order or emoji, or delete a sticker.
  • Send /delpack to delete a whole pack. People who added it lose it too.
