A large follower count is easy to show and hard to verify. Reach, restrictions and the Page's history tell you what you are actually buying.
1. Check Page transparency
On the Page, open About → Page transparency. It shows when the Page was created, its name changes and whether it is running ads. Many name changes can mean the Page has been sold and repurposed several times.
2. Check real reach
- Ask for a screen recording of the Professional dashboard: reach and engagement for the last 28 days and audience countries.
- Compare likes, comments and shares on recent posts with the follower count. A large Page with almost no engagement has an inactive audience.
- Check that the audience countries fit how you plan to use the Page.
3. Restrictions and monetization
- In the Professional dashboard, check for restrictions or a warning about the Page's standing.
- If the Page is said to be monetized, see its status in the monetization section of the dashboard. Payouts go to the payout account you set up yourself; read Facebook Page monetization.
4. Taking control
You should receive Facebook access with full control, wait for it to become active, and then remove the seller. If the Page is in a Business portfolio, it is moved or you become its admin. Step by step: how to transfer Facebook Page ownership. Release payment from escrow only when you hold full control and the seller has been removed.
Meta's terms govern Pages. Pages by niche and size are listed on Facebook Pages for sale.
Frequently asked questions
How can I see when a Facebook Page was created?
Open About → Page transparency on the Page. It shows the creation date and any name changes.
How do I know if a Facebook Page has fake followers?
Compare engagement on recent posts with the follower count, and ask for the Professional dashboard reach and audience countries. Very low engagement points to inactive followers.
What access should I get when buying a Facebook Page?
Facebook access with full control, after which you remove the seller. Pages in a Business portfolio are moved to yours or you become the portfolio admin.
Can a monetized Facebook Page be sold?
The Page can change hands; payouts go to the payout account the new owner sets up, and monetization depends on the Page continuing to meet Meta's policies.
