Telegram suggested posts: get paid for posts in Stars or TON.

Since July 2025 subscribers and advertisers can send a ready post to your channel with a payment offer attached. Telegram holds the payment and releases it after the post has stayed up for 24 hours.

Suggested posts turn your channel's direct messages into a small ad desk: the post, the price and the publishing time are agreed inside Telegram, and the money is held until the post has been live for a day.

How suggested posts work

  • A subscriber or advertiser opens a direct message to the channel and taps the suggested post icon in the message bar.
  • They write the post and can attach an offer in Telegram Stars or Toncoin (TON).
  • They can pick a date and time, or choose Anytime and let you decide.
  • You can suggest edits to the text, media or price before accepting.
  • Once both sides agree, the post is published right away or scheduled.
  • You receive the payment 24 hours after posting. If the post is removed earlier, Telegram returns the full amount to the sender.

Step by step for channel owners

  1. Make sure people can send direct messages to the channel.
  2. Publish a short note saying you accept suggested posts, with your rules and starting price.
  3. When an offer arrives, check the post against your rules and suggest edits or a new price if needed.
  4. Accept and schedule it at a time your audience is active.
  5. Keep the post up for at least 24 hours so the payment is released.

Stars or TON: which to accept?

Telegram itself points out a difference: Stars are bought through providers such as app stores, which can refund buyers within 21 days, so Stars may later be deducted from your balance. TON payments cannot be refunded that way, which makes them the safer choice for larger deals. Stars you keep become withdrawable after the waiting period; see how Stars withdrawals work.

How to price a suggested post

  • Base the price on real reach: the typical views of your recent posts, not the subscriber count. Check yours with the engagement rate calculator.
  • Price by the result you can show: cost per 1,000 views is easy for advertisers to compare.
  • Publish your formats and prices once in a media kit so offers arrive in the right range.
  • Reject posts that do not fit your audience; a bad ad costs more in unsubscribes than it pays.

For advertisers buying placements

Suggested posts make small placements simpler: the payment is held until the post has stayed up for a day. Before you send an offer, check the channel's audience with the channel audit, give each placement its own invite link, and compare results afterwards with the promotion results calculator.
