Most takeovers of bought accounts happen because one recovery path was left behind: an old email, a phone number, a linked Google login or an open session.
1. The order matters
- Email first. Move the account to an email only you control and confirm it. Whoever controls the email can reset everything else.
- Phone second. Replace or remove the seller's number.
- New password. Long and unique, stored in a password manager.
- Two-factor authentication with your own authenticator app, and save the backup codes.
- Close every other session and remove linked logins and apps you do not use.
- Only then release payment from escrow.
2. Platform by platform
| Platform | Where to check sessions and links | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Accounts Center → Password and security → Where you're logged in; remove the seller's linked accounts | Instagram guide | |
| TikTok | Settings → Security → Manage devices; remove Google or Apple logins that belong to the seller | TikTok guide |
| X (Twitter) | Settings → Security and account access: sessions and connected apps | X guide |
| Change email and password, turn on two-factor authentication, remove linked logins | Reddit guide | |
| YouTube | Brand Account permissions: become primary owner after Google's 7-day wait, then remove the seller | YouTube guide |
| Facebook Page | Settings → Page setup → Page access: hold full control, then remove everyone else | Facebook guide |
| Telegram | Settings → Devices: terminate other sessions; set your own two-step verification password and recovery email | Telegram guide |
3. The first week
- Change one thing at a time: name, photo and bio over several days, not all at once.
- Behave like a normal user: a few posts and interactions, no mass follows, links or messages on day one.
- Check the security page again after a few days for sessions or devices you do not recognize.
- Keep the purchase record: the chat, the payment and the handover details, in case anything needs to be resolved.
Each platform's own terms govern accounts. Accounts we sell are listed on Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, YouTube, Facebook and Telegram.
Frequently asked questions
What should I change first after buying an account?
The email. Whoever controls the email can reset the password and everything else, so move it to an email only you control and confirm it before anything else.
Do I need two-factor authentication on a bought account?
Yes. Turn it on with your own authenticator app and save the backup codes, so a leaked password alone is not enough to get in.
How do I know the seller is logged out?
Open the platform's sessions or devices page and end every session that is not yours, then check again after a few days.
When should I release the payment?
Only after the email, phone, password and two-factor authentication are yours and all other sessions are closed.
