TikTok video date finder: the exact upload date and time.

TikTok often shows only "3d ago" or "2w ago". The exact upload time is hidden inside the video ID; paste the link to read it, down to the second.

How the date is found

Every TikTok video has a long numeric ID, the number after /video/ in its link. The first 32 bits of that number are the upload time in seconds since 1970, so shifting the ID 32 bits to the right gives the exact moment the video was posted. The calculation runs in your browser; nothing is sent to TikTok or to us.

  1. Tap Share → Copy link on the video.
  2. If you get a short vm.tiktok.com link, open it in a browser first and copy the full address from the address bar.
  3. Paste the full link, or just the long number, above.

What it is useful for

  • Fact-checking when a clip resurfaces as "new".
  • Checking an account before buying: the dates of its oldest videos show how long it has really been active.
  • Planning posts: compare the times your best videos went up.

Check how a video performs with the TikTok engagement rate calculator and what an account could earn with the TikTok money calculator. Looking for an established account? See TikTok accounts.

Frequently asked questions

How do I see the exact date of a TikTok video?

Copy the video link and paste it into this tool. The upload date and time are decoded from the number in the link.

Why does TikTok only show "2w ago"?

TikTok shows relative dates for recent videos. The exact time is still stored in the video ID, which this tool reads.

Does it work with short vm.tiktok.com links?

Not directly. Open the short link in a browser and copy the full address that contains /video/.

Can I find when a TikTok account was created?

TikTok does not show it. The date of the account's oldest video is the closest public sign of how long it has been active.
